Big Hill Pond State Park – Pocahontas, TN
Big Hill Pond State Park has 30 miles of hiking trails winding through hills, bottomland forests, swamps, and lakes that cover the 4,000+ acres that make up this park. These 9 trails range from easy to intermediate with lengths between 0.65 and 3.10 miles, so make your selection by viewing the hiking trail descriptions.
Big Hill Pond State Park features a 70-foot observation tower that overlooks Travis McNatt Lake and a boardwalk through Dismal Swamp.
Big Buck Resort
Big Buck Resort is a privately owned facility offering rental cabins, campsites, tent camping, and is an event venue. Guests are invited to enjoy the hiking trails, ponds, range, volleyball court, horseshoes, and more during their stay.
Chickasaw State Park – Henderson, TN
Just west of Henderson, TN, on Highway 100, lies Chickasaw State Park with 1,400 acres that are home to over 8 miles of hiking trails that traverse lowland and upland hardwood forests, wetlands, along creekbeds, and along the shore of the two lakes in the park – Lake Lajoie and Lake Placid. The 8 trails range from easy to moderate with lengths ranging from 0.4 miles to 1.8 miles.
Pleasant Run Creek Park – Bolivar, TN
This park, located 100 Stevens Road, is a breath of fresh air in Bolivar, providing a green space for its residents. The 170 acres that make up this park feature a disc golf course, a dog park, a fishing lake, a picnic area, a state-certified arboretum, and walking trails. You might even spot some of the local wildlife along the trails.
Sand Beach Lake – Bolivar, TN
Sand Beach Lake is currently under construction with an anticipated completion date of 2024. Currently, visitors can fish and boat on the lake. Future plans include a zipline, a picnic pavilion with grills, walking trails, an amphitheater, camping sites, a swimming beach, and more. The park is located at 575 E. Market Street.
City Park – Bolivar, TN
Located at the corner of South Polk and Poplar Streets, Bolivar City Park has a picnic pavilion, playground, ball field, swimming pool, tennis courts, and a walking trail.
