After 17 years, Miss Forest Festival pageant returned to Hardeman County as a preliminary pageant for Miss Tennessee and Miss America. The pageant was held last Saturday at Hardeman County Arts Council.
Congratulations to Mackenzie McCommon for being crowned Miss Forest Festival. Mackenzie is 19 years old and a student at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Mackenzie is also a Hardeman County native. Her talent is tap dancing and she takes a special interest in breast cancer awareness.
Mackenzie will go on to compete in the Miss Tennessee pageant in 2020.
Lydia Fisher, a student at University of Memphis, placed second and Hannah Williams, also a student at University of Memphis, placed third.
The pageant included special entertainment by the reigning Miss Tennessee, Brianna Mason, who also crowned Miss Forest Festival assisted by Jimmy Sain, Hardeman County Mayor, and Julian McTizic, City of Bolivar Mayor.
The judges were Charlotte Smith, Glenn McDaniel, State Rep. Johnny Shaw, Carol Ann Bivens, and Stacy Rollins.
